Dori E. Newman
Dori E. Newman practices in all areas of family law and criminal law. She has experience in both prosecuting and defending all aspects of a criminal law case. Her experience in family law includes divorce, paternity, custody, adoption, guardianship, protective orders, termination of parental rights, and Child in Need of Services (CHINS) actions.
Prior to joining Eimerman Law, Dori handled hundreds of cases for the Department of Child Services (DCS) where she served as a local office attorney and became Chief Counsel. Before starting at DCS, Dori and her husband started their own legal practice at Newman & Newman PC, which handled family law and criminal law cases. Before her work at Newman & Newman PC, she worked as a Hamilton County Deputy Prosecutor. Dori has over 24 years of litigation experience and a wealth of legal knowledge. She has litigated all over the State of Indiana.
Dori has a passion for helping individuals handle troubling situations. Whether helping families through the messy, and very emotional, family law process or navigating a stressful criminal matter, Dori handles her cases with compassion, common sense, and tenacity. Her goal is to counsel clients to resolve issues with their client’s objectives at the forefront. If a resolution cannot be reached, Dori will relentlessly fight for her client’s rights through the litigation process.
Throughout her legal career, Dori has maintained a professional demeanor, garnered respect from the legal community, and advocated on behalf of her clients. She understands that whatever the issue her client is facing, that issue is one of the most important issues in her client’s life and it must be handled with care, confidence, and with clear and constant client communication.
Dori received her undergraduate degree from Texas State University (formerly Southwest Texas State), graduated summa cum laude, and her legal education from the McKinney IU School of Law, where she graduated magna cum laude.
Dori is a parent in a blended family for 20 years, has a cat, and house plants she cares for. In her spare time, she likes to spend time with family, kayak, hike, travel and tend to her many plants. She resides in Marion County.
